Agent Info
- Never sign with an agent
that will make you pay up-front cost. These agents are
out there to scam you and should be reported to SAG/AFTRA.
- A true SAG franchised
agent will receive 10% of what you make, and nothing more.
- If you are new to the
bussiness or new to an area, e-mail: question@takeoneacting.com to receive a list of SAG/AFTRA
franchised agents in your area.
- Meet with an agent before
you sign a contract. Make sure that there are no
alterations to the contract. It should be a regular SAG
contract.
- If an agency wants you to
sign an agreement as opposed to a contract, that is ok.
The difference betweent the two is: a contract is legaly
binding the actor with the agency on a year by year terms.
An agreement does not legaly bind the actor with the
agency, and is a month by month term.
- If you are unsure if an
agency is SAG/AFTRA franchised, e-mail: question@takeoneacting.com or go to www.sag.com.
